Young Ambassadors of Peace in Asia (YAPA) Program brings Asian Youth
Over 30 young Asians will be meeting from 12 to 18 June at the headquarters of CCA in Chiang Mai, Thailand for training in peace building.
The YAPA training will focus on conflict transformation and peacebuilding where young people will be mentored by a wide range of experienced facilitators during interactive sessions.
The main objective of this training program is to promote the presence and the role of young people as positive actors of change in peacebuilding processes. It also aims to strengthen the role of young people in identifying and speaking up against human rights violations, including discrimination, hate speech and those human rights violations affecting people and communities especially in contexts where religious intolerance destroys communal harmony.
The week-long YAPA training will develop the competencies of young peace activists who have been carefully chosen to be peace ambassadors in their national and local contexts and are instrumental in promoting and protecting human dignity, conflict transformation, peace-building, intercultural and interfaith dialogue.
