The World Council of Churches (WCC) and the Christian Conference of Asia (CCA) will co-organise an Asia regional webinar on the ‘Overcoming Challenges of Inequality in Asia: Pilgrimage of Justice and Peace in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic’, on Friday 4 June 2021 from 13:00–15:00 Bangkok (Thailand) time.
As the need for new theological approaches to the Pilgrimage of Justice and Peace (PJP) has emerged due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is not just the injustices including racism or economic inequity that has been revealed, but the implementation of responses to the journey of the PJP must now be prioritised. In this regard, the Asia regional webinar intends to respond to the emerging priorities of the PJP in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The key issues that will be discussed at the webinar will be shared by four panelists: Dr T. Jacob John, Hanbeet Rhee; Ms Beverly Longid; and Fr. Rony John.
Dr Mathews George Chunakara, the General Secretary of the CCA will be the moderator. Rev. Dr Sang Chang, WCC President from Asia, and Prof. Dr Isabel Apawo Phiri, WCC Deputy General Secretary will deliver the opening addresses
