CCA invites applications and nominations for the Asian Ecumenical Institute (AEI-2020)
Participants of the CCA's Asian Ecumenical Institute (AEI) - 2019
The Christian Conference of Asia (CCA) invites applications for the Asian Ecumenical Institute (AEI), an annual month-long ecumenical training programme that focuses on the ecumenical formation and leadership development of prospective ecclesial and ecumenical leaders.
The AEI-2020 will be held from 13 August to 11 September 2020 in Kerala, India, in conjunction with the 15th General Assembly of the CCA. Over the course of 4 weeks, its sessions will be held in three different cities in Kerala, namely, Kochi, Kottayam, and Thiruvananthapuram.
The theme for AEI is ‘God, Renew Us in Your Spirit and Restore the Creation’, which is the same as that of the CCA’s 15th General Assembly.
The AEI is a popular ecumenical leadership development training opportunity for young ecumenists in CCA’s member churches and councils to hone their leadership skills and ecumenical vision.
The programme also aims to extend the frontiers of the participants’ knowledge of Asia’s socio-economic and geopolitical realities, with in-depth explorations of the emerging issues and concerns in Asia.
Participants will be equipped with the necessary tools of biblical-theological analyses to formulate developmental and ecumenical responses to contemporary Asian issues. Participants of the AEI-2020 will also gain additional experiences from their full-time participation at the CCA’s 15th General Assembly.
Admissions to AEI-2020 will be limited to twenty-four students between the ages of 25 and 35. Applications will be screened on the basis of competence, prior ecumenical and ecclesial experience, gender and confessional balances, national and sub-regional representation, and the ability to effectively communicate in English.
The deadline for receiving applications for AEI-2020 is 15 March 2020.
